Volunteers Make Good Work Possible!

Volunteers are the backbone of the Food Bank lending a hand
with filling food orders, sending out mailings, repackaging food products,
or cleaning the warehouse.

The 3rd Saturday of each month is Family Matter's Day at the Food Bank.
Groups are invited to volunteer together from 9 a.m. - noon.
Family Matter's Day is not just for traditional families, any group is welcome.

Bible Study group led by Bonnie Garbrecht, Food Bank Board Member, helps
to put together Kids' Backpacks during a recent workout!

An enthusiastic group from KCC/BCPS Outward Bound volunteering.

Don and Donna Kachman are regulars to Family Matter's Day, volunteering almost every Saturday that we are open.  Many times, when scheduling permits, their children join them.

The Food Bank also welcomes volunteers during regular business hours,
Mon. - Fri. from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Members of the Trinity United Methodist Church Dorcas Circle volunteer at the Food Bank throughout the year helping with mailings of the Annual Report, Feinstein Challenge
 and Tax Credit materials.

The Sonoma Kids' After-school pack Packers are just one of the groups that volunteer at the Food Bank on a regular basis.  The second Tuesday of each month they can be found packing up over 500 special packs that are distributed to children in Calhoun & Kalamazoo counties.

In addition to being part of the Kids' Backpack group, Les Senker (above left) and Norm Hewitt (above right) are regulars around the Food Bank.  Les volunteers as a driver for the Food Bank whenever the need arises and Norm performs a number of functions around the warehouse, including filling detergent bottles with laundry detergent donated by the
Target Distribution Center.
