Director of Agency Relations

The Food Bank of South Central Michigan has a management level, leadership team position open to oversee and direct the activities that support and strengthen relationships with our agencies and food distribution partners that include community-based feeding programs, food pantries, mobile pantries and other social service organizations that feed the hungry in our eight county service area. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social services or a related field. Additional education may be substituted for experience and education qualifications may be waived depending on work history.
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to establish and maintain good working relationships with leadership, staff, supporters, targeted community groups and the public with a high degree of tact, diplomacy and discretion, with an emphasis on flexibility and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and standard office equipment.
  • Knowledge of inventory software a plus
  • Experience in developing programs/project management and the ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects
  • Proven success in leading teams and managing employees to meet strategic goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Possess current vehicle insurance and ability to use a personal vehicle for FBSCM business

Development Director

The Food Bank of South Central Michigan has a management level, leadership team position open for an energetic individual with quantifiable experience and excellent performance in cultivating donor and volunteer relationships, fundraising and communications.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; five years of non-profit fundraising and development experience preferred. Additional education may be substituted for experience and education qualifications may be waived depending on work history.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, cultivate and manage donor and volunteer relationships.
  • Background of achieving revenue targets by successfully soliciting major gifts and obtaining grant funding. Experience in planned giving is preferred.
  • must possess proven management, leadership and interpersonal capabilities to establish and maintain good working relationships with leadership, staff, supporters. targeted community groups and the public with a high degree of tact, diplomacy and discretion, with an emphasis on flexibility and professionalism.
  • Utilize communication and outreach activities to grown and maintain a current media and marketing plan that significantly enhances the Food Bank's recognition in the eight counties it serves.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including high-level expertise in grammar, punctuation and composition.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), donor software and standard office equipment.

Truck Driver

Job Type: Full Time Employment

  • Hours:   40 hours/week.  Hours of operation:  M-F 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Sat 7:00 am – 12:00 pm

    Job Description:  Responsible for the pick-up of food donations, delivery of agency orders, tailgate orders and food drops.  Assist with loading and unloading of inbound and outbound trucks, and other receiving/shipping tasks.  Assist with maintenance of vehicles and all equipment.  Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of immediate work areas.

    Job Requirements:         High school diploma

                                                 Commercial Drivers License, Class A or B with air brake

                                                 Minimum (3) years of current commercial driving experience

                                                 Clear driving record

    Warehouse Associate

    Job Type: Full Time Employment

    Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with the potential for overtime.

    Job Description: Work with the distribution center team to manage the safe handling of incoming donations of food and non-food products and the distribution of food orders to our program delivery partners.
